The Distinctive features of households in Fayoum Governorate according to the target level of fertility (two children per family)

The study was conducted in order to improve the properties of
the household and increase awareness of the benefits of the adoption of small family consisting of two children within the Fayoum governorate by standing on the most important variables affecting the classification level of household size within the governorate and differences relative according to the size of fertility target of two children per family (i.e., 2.1 per family). And thus it may contribute to reduce inequality relative to these properties in the future, as well as to develop new indicators to help decision-makers and planners of population programs in developing plans and strategies for the Fayoum governorate, to
The study used data from a survey in Fayoum governorate in 2008 carried
out by the statistical institute in coordination with the ministry of state for
family and population through (512) case (or households) which were
represented a stratified random sample of the reality of families living in
Fayoum governorate. Regression logistic method was used to estimate the
probability of the existence of two child or less in the light of these cases.
It used on the level of each of the total, urban and rural areas. Results of
the logistic model have shown at an aggregate level of the governorate that residence, age, age at first marriage, marital status, educational level, income monthly, the adequacy of the monthly income, polygamy, belonging to political party, owning a car contribute to statistically significant increase in the probability of existence two children or less to the household where it was found that the level of significance for the coefficients of these variables is less than 0.05, which refers to the ability to classify the level of household size within the Fayoum governorate (two or less / more than two children). The study recommended some programs and proposed policies to strengthen the policy the concept of small family within the Fayoum governorate.
